DoDEA Schools Will Remain Open

In the event of a government shutdown, schools run by the Department of Defense Educational Activity (DoDEA) will continue to operate as usual.  Employees at the school and district levels will continue to work as usual, and students will continue to go to school.

Student activities, including athletics, will continue as usual.  TDY travel for student activities will be authorized.

Employees at area offices and headquarters may be furloughed.  These employees should obtain guidance from their supervisors.

  • Rock on DoDDS (DoDea). As a 30-year (now retired) DoDDS teacher, I was wondering and hoping the stupidity in Congress would not affect our great teachers and “Brats.” Glad to hear it didn’t! There’s a “maybe” on the employees at the area offices and Hqs. I’d like to know how that turned out, if anyone knows. Wiesbaden is the greatest! Martha Eckhart aka/DoDDSDolly!
