Please Help Me Understand!

Dear readers, I am asking for your help in understanding something.  It is clear from the traffic and the comments that many of my readers do not understand how military pay days work.  I have been trying very hard to help, by writing articles about when people should be paid, but I still get tons of confused and confusing comments each pay day.  This one has been particularly hard, as it often is when pay day is on a Tuesday, with many people truly expecting that their military pay would be deposited on Friday or Saturday.  I wrote in my post exactly when people should expect to have their deposits posted, and then in the very same post there are comments by people who are shocked that they didn’t get paid earlier.

What can I do to help make this easier to understand?  I really want to help.  I know what it is like to try to stretch that paycheck a few extra days.  I know how frustrating it can be when you expect to have your pay deposited and it is not there.  What sort of information could I provide that would explain the process better?

Thanks in advance for your thoughts

I don’t know how you could make it any easier to understand. I get it. My husband gets it and it seems like all my friends get it. The military is consistent in paying us. They don’t change the rules. They won’t pay you 5 days early just because it’s a holiday weekend or Black Friday. I don’t know how you are always so patient in explaining it!

I have no idea how anyone doesn’t understand this. The 1st and the 15th unless your bank releases it early – which is a privilege and NOT a requirement.

There is nothing you can do…these boneheads won’t get it….it’s all clear cut, but yet every time there are people whining and complaining all bc THEY didn’t budget correctly
